DCCD Friction Plate Kit MY06+

CARBON PLATES FOR ULTIMATE RELIABILITY

Overhaul kit for rebuilding and upgrading the Driver Controlled Center Differential (DCCD).  Carbon friction plates offer higher wear and temperature resistance compared to the stock organic material.  Kit contains a set of friction and spacer kits for the main clutch pack. 

The DCCD (Driver Controlled Center Differential) is a mechanical limited slip differential (LSD) which has a variable locking ratio controlled via a multi-plate clutch.  The DCCD electromagnetic coil is responsible for applying pressure on the multi-plate clutch (pilot clutch).  The pilot clutch increases the preload on the main clutch pack via a set of ramps and balls.  It is not uncommon for the main clutch pack to suffer excessive wear or heat damage if the preload is insufficient to control wheelspin.  Heat damage can result in warped friction and spacer plates resulting in clunking or binding especially in slow tight corners.  Rebuilding the main clutch pack is the only way to repair this and restore DCCD performance.
