Idle Air Control Valve Gasket
Rubber o-ring gasket for idle control valve at top of mechanical type throttle body. The idle air control valve is responsible for metering air around the throttle plate in order to control the idle speed. It is heated by coolant circulating through the throttle body in order to prevent icing in cold weather. This gasket seals both coolant and vacuum.
When removing the idle control valve it is often necessary to replace this gasket either becase the gasket has permanently compressed or because the gasket has swelled and no longer fits in its corresponding groove.
