Motul 8100 XCess Gen2 oil is a high performance 100% synthetic engine oil with numerous factory approvals and is recommended for high performance road cars still under warranty, both direct and indirect injection types. Compatible with ethanol fuels.

Excellent general purpose high performance synthetic and we use this extensively for general maintenance of turbocharged Subaru applications.

Viscosity is a measure of how easily the oil flows with muti-viscosity ratings indicating the viscosity when cold (winter weight - the number before the "W") and when hot (the second number).  Optimal viscosity selection is a balance between ensuring the oil flows easily during cold starting and maintaining sufficient oil pressure at maximum expected oil temperatures.  Highly tuned turbocharged engines generally require a higher hot viscosity number because the oil must deal with greater heat loads.  Our starting recommendation for turbocharged Subaru engines is 5W40 for year round general use and 15W50 for warm weather track use.
